Q:

Lost photos after deleting them from gallery, any way to get them back?

So I messed up. I deleted a bunch of photos from my Android phone (Samsung), and then I also cleared the trash thinking I didn’t need them anymore. Now I actually need some of those pictures back.

There’s no backup on Google Photos (I checked), and they weren’t on an SD card, just internal storage.

Is there any way to recover them after emptying the trash? Or are they gone for good?

Photos and videos usually have a decent chance if not overwritten.

Makes sense. Any idea what kind of files can still be recovered

The less you use it, the better your chances.

Also don’t take new photos or download stuff right now

Yeah, safer. They scan without writing new data to the phone.

So PC-based tools are better?

Don’t install anything on the phone itself. That can overwrite data.

Then your best bet is using an android data recovery tool from a PC.

Yeah checked everything. No backups at all.

Did you check Samsung Cloud or any other backup?

Got it. Wish I knew that earlier 😅

Exactly. Deleted doesn’t mean gone immediately, just marked as free space.

Because new data can overwrite deleted files. Once that happens, recovery is basically impossible.

Why? I’ve still been using it normally.

Yeah, first thing, stop using the phone as much as possible.
