Yeah, safer. They scan without writing new data to the phone.

So PC-based tools are better?

Don’t install anything on the phone itself. That can overwrite data.

Then your best bet is using an android data recovery tool from a PC.

Yeah checked everything. No backups at all.

Did you check Samsung Cloud or any other backup?

Got it. Wish I knew that earlier 😅

Exactly. Deleted doesn’t mean gone immediately, just marked as free space.

Because new data can overwrite deleted files. Once that happens, recovery is basically impossible.

Why? I’ve still been using it normally.

Yeah, first thing, stop using the phone as much as possible.

If trash is emptied, it gets a lot harder. Not impossible, but depends.

So I messed up. I deleted a bunch of photos from my Android phone (Samsung), and then I also cleared the trash thinking I didn’t need them anymore. Now I actually need some of those pictures back.

There’s no backup on Google Photos (I checked), and they weren’t on an SD card, just internal storage.

Is there any way to recover them after emptying the trash? Or are they gone for good?

Thanks everyone! I tried a recovery tool and was able to get most of my files back 🙌

Really appreciate the help!

I faced a similar issue recently. In my case, the SD card got corrupted and I couldn’t access anything.

What worked for me was using a recovery tool (like Stellar Data Recovery). It scanned the card and helped recover most of my photos before I tried fixing the card.

One tip:Always recover data before attempting repair , otherwise you might lose everything permanently.
