Sounds like the drive might have failed completely if it’s not showing up anywhere. Try checking it in Device Manager or on a Linux system if you can — otherwise, recovery might require a professional help.

I do have the same issues with my JPEGs. I am not able to access it. Do let me know if you find any solution.

I’ve got several .jpg files that won’t open in any image viewer — I get an error saying the file is corrupt or unsupported. They have the correct .jpg extension, and the file sizes seem normal. Any idea what might cause this, or how to fix/recover them?

If you still have the SD card or original device they were on, try recovering from that directly — it might have better copies than what was on your D drive.

When you format an SD card, especially in Windows, it usually just does a “quick format.” That means it doesn’t actually delete the files, it just wipes the file table. So the photos are likely still there — you just can’t see them until you use a photo recovery software.

Hey folks, I’m getting an error on my SD card that says ‘The disk is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?’ But I can’t afford to lose the data on it. I’ve tried it on multiple devices, and it still gives the same error. Is there any way to fix this error without formatting the card, or is data recovery possible? Any tools or steps I should try?

Sounds like your SD card’s file system got corrupted but the data might still be recoverable. Kai has explained it better.

If you want reliable, widely trusted cards, go with SanDisk. Lexar offers good speed and value, often at a lower price. Choose based on your budget and performance needs!

Hey everyone, I’ve had some pictures get corrupted and now they won’t open. Do you know why this happens and if there’s any easy way or tool to fix them?

I’m getting errors when trying to open some JPEG files—they either won’t open or show corrupted images. These files might have been damaged during transfer or storage. Has anyone dealt with similar JPEG corruption before? What tools or methods did you use to repair or recover these images?

There are tools specifically made to repair corrupted JPEGs and PNGs. For JPEGs, tools like Stellar Repair for Photo or JPEG Repair Toolkit can sometimes fix header issues. For PNGs, you can try tools like PNG Repair Tool.

Ugh, that sounds super annoying. It’s definitely a frustrating issue when nothing seems to work. I’ve run into this a couple of times before.
Some BIOS settings can interfere with USB recognition. Try resetting your BIOS to default settings (or checking if USB legacy support is enabled). You can usually access BIOS by pressing a key like F2 or DEL during startup, depending on your PC.

My USB drive isn’t working properly and is acting weird. It’s not being detected on my computer, or it’s showing up as corrupted files. I’ve tried it on different ports and devices, but the issue persists. Has anyone experienced something like this before? Any troubleshooting tips or ways to fix it?

Sounds like a compatibility issue, especially since the card works in other devices.
