I installed all three updates on a test machine. No performance changes—which I wasn’t expecting—but it’s nice to keep the recovery tools and installation files up to date. These are the kind of maintenance updates I usually install sooner rather than later.
KB5095615 showed up on my laptop but not my gaming PC. I guess Microsoft is offering different updates depending on the Windows version or hardware. Both machines are running fine after checking for updates.
If you use BitLocker or rely on WinRE for troubleshooting, I’d recommend installing the WinRE update. Keeping the recovery environment current can save a lot of headaches if Windows ever fails to boot.

That’s probably the best thing you’ve done. A lot of people keep using the phone for days before attempting recovery.
Good point. I haven’t used the phone since posting here, so hopefully I haven’t made things worse.
Also avoid taking “test photos” to see if recovery works. Every new file reduces your chances a little more.
Whatever tool you choose, don’t keep rescanning over and over. Pick one, scan once, and save anything recoverable to your computer, not back onto the phone.
I’ve used Stellar Data Recovery for Android once after accidentally deleting some photos. It didn’t recover everything, but I was able to get back a decent number of images. The free version also lets you see what it finds before deciding whether it’s worth continuing.

I’d connect it to a PC if you decide to try recovery. I’ve had better results that way than using Play Store recovery apps.
Microsoft has acknowledged that a recent Secure Boot certificate update is failing or being blocked on some Windows 11 PCs due to known compatibility issues.
According to Microsoft, the update is intended to improve Secure Boot security by updating the Secure Boot certificates used during startup. However, certain devices are unable to install the update successfully, while others won’t receive it at all because Microsoft has placed a compatibility safeguard on affected systems.
The company is investigating the issue and recommends users wait for a future update instead of trying to force the installation.
