If the files were recovered but corrupted, there’s still a chance. I had something similar with Canon RAWs after a bad SD card. Some files opened after re-copying them through a different card reader.
Shot a small wedding last weekend and my SD card suddenly started throwing errors while copying files. I managed to recover most of the data using recovery software, but now around 40-50 CR2 files either won’t preview or Lightroom says they’re corrupted. Some show gray thumbnails, some don’t open at all.
Anyone dealt with this before? Are these RAWs completely dead or is there still a way to repair them?
I tested it on an external HDD and USB drive recently. The Deep Scan feature found files that Windows couldn’t detect anymore.
Has anyone tested it on SSDs or external hard drives?
Does it actually recover permanently deleted files or only files from the Recycle Bin?

Usually no, but the only way to find out is to either xray it or scratch the coating to find the data pads. It’s possible that the data cells are not extending towards the crack. Unfortunately there’s nothing you can DIY, if you keep plugging it in you can risk killing it completely.
I’d recommend sending it to a recovery clinic.
I heard DMDE is free up till 4000 files. Also did you preview the files or checked the Hex of the files you wanna recover?
Sorry no chance on that, the micro sd card is essentially the storage chip, if this is damaged then at present there is no fix.
Try opening them in different apps first before assuming they’re gone. A few of my “dead” CR2 files actually opened in RawTherapee even though Lightroom refused them.
