Also check if your phone’s been synced with iTunes before. Some tools can scan local backups too.
Same. I used one that scanned my phone directly and showed deleted pics from like a month back. No backup needed. Just don’t add new data..it could overwrite stuff.
Yep, it let me preview first. That’s why I went for it. Can’t remember the name but it wasn’t one of those sketchy looking ones.
Which one did you use? Did it show stuff before charging?
I was able to recover some of my voice memos and documents using an iPhone data recovery software on PC. No iCloud needed.
Guys I messed up. About 3 weeks ago I deleted a full iMessage thread on my iPhone 13 because I thought I didn’t need it anymore. Well, turns out I actually do need it now, it had a bunch of attachments (mostly photos and some pdfs) that I didn’t save anywhere else.
I didn’t have iCloud backup on at the time (I know, my bad), and the thread’s gone from the “Recently Deleted” section too. I’ve been searching online and came across some tools, but most of them either ask for money up front or don’t even detect anything.
Is there any way to get back deleted iMessage attachments after 3+ weeks? Like a recovery software that actually works? Or is it game over?
Also just to mention..whatsApp stores media locally and in chat backups. If it was a WhatsApp video, check Google Drive backups if enabled. But if you’ve wiped those too, desktop software is really your best (and last) option.
Yup.. agreed with @Orion on avoiding random apks. If you’re okay trying a desktop app, you might want to check out some of the PC-based Android recovery tools. A few of them (like the one I used) can scan your phone’s internal storage for deleted files, without rooting. Not free, but some offer preview mode so you can see if your file is there before buying.
In that case, honestly, the chances of recovery are slim unless the video ended up in a cloud backup (like Google Photos, WhatsApp cloud, etc.). Did you ever forward or share that video with anyone?
Yeah, I deleted it in April last year, so it’s been over a year. And yeah, I’ve been using the phone regularly since then
Most of those free apk apps don’t work because android 11+ locks down access to internal storage, especially for video files. Even rooting doesn’t always help if the file sectors are already overwritten. (Also, it will make your phone lose its validity and make it vulnurable)
When exactly did you delete the video? Has your phone been used a lot since then?
I’ve been trying to recover a video I had on my Android phone that I deleted sometime back in April 2024. It was from a chat, I had it downloaded but deleted it thinking it wasn’t important at the time. Now I seriously need it.
I tried a bunch of apps and APKs floating around the web. Most of them are junk. One did manage to pull up some old pics, which was cool, but no luck with videos.
Can anyone suggest a reliable tool or method? Preferably something free or at least a trial that lets me check if the file is recoverable before paying. I just want that one video”
Then it’s maybe worth a try with scrcpy or even Samsung’s DeX if that’s available on A50. Another hacky trick: try using OTG mouse and disable the digitizer by disconnecting the display cable from inside the phone (ONLY if you’re comfortable doing this and the screen is a lost cause anyway). That way, only the mouse input gets read. Dangerous territory, though.
Actually yes..I did enable Developer Options a while ago for some testing with a fitness app. I don’t remember if USB debugging was toggled on though.
Got it. I’ll pause usage until I try one of these. Thanks y’all.
