Files are getting corrupted – Please Help !

I’m facing a serious issue with my external SSD (it’s a Crucial X8 1TB). The files I’ve saved on it are gradually getting corrupted, and the number keeps increasing every day. Some files that were opening fine earlier are now unreadable.
I primarily use the drive with my Lenovo laptop running Windows 11, but I also tried accessing the files on a friend’s system that runs on Windows 10, and also on a system with Linux, but there also the same issue. Nothing seems to work.
If anyone has experienced this or knows what I can do to stop the corruption and possibly recover the data, please guide me.

If files are getting corrupted and the issue shows up on multiple systems, the SSD is likely failing. Stop using the drive right away to avoid making things worse. Don’t copy, delete, or change anything on it.
Use windows data recovery software to scan the drive and recover whatever you can to a different device. After recovery, check the SSD’s health using Crucial’s tool or any SMART status checker. If it shows signs of failure, replace the drive.
