Microsoft fixes the Windows 11 bug slowing down some Dell PCs

Microsoft has released a fix for a Windows 11 issue that was causing performance problems on some Dell PCs.

Affected users reported slower boot times, lag while opening applications, and occasional system stuttering after installing recent Windows 11 updates. Microsoft worked with Dell to identify the cause and has now rolled out a fix through Windows Update for impacted systems.

This is why it’s always worth reading the release notes before troubleshooting hardware. Sometimes the problem is a software bug that’s already been identified and fixed. If you have an affected Dell PC, definitely grab the latest Windows Update.

I never experienced the issue on my Dell Latitude, so I assume it only affected certain models or hardware configurations. Still, I installed the update just to stay current.

My Dell XPS was affected. The system wasn’t unusable, but there was definitely random lag when switching between applications. After installing today’s update, everything feels much smoother.

Good to see Microsoft and Dell getting this sorted out. It was frustrating because the slowdown only appeared after a Windows update, so a lot of people thought their SSD or hardware was failing.
